“E temos o povo” is a collective listening session that travels back to April 25, 1974, through the most complete sound document of the Carnation Revolution. A unique opportunity to hear freedom in the voices of the people, the military, and the journalists, from the Coup to the Revolution, from Terreiro do Paço to Largo do Carmo, capturing footsteps, shouts, megaphones, radio communications, helicopters, tanks, and the street spirit that inaugurated a new era. Promoted by the 50th Anniversary of April 25 Commemorative Committee, the first session took place in the central atrium of the ruins of the Convento do Carmo, in Lisbon, on April 25, 2025. In 2026, “E temos o povo” will tour the country, the mainland, and the autonomous regions, bringing this historical document to new audiences and geographies.
