Thirdthing

Thirdthing presents Dunya*, time to change, a live music concert shaped by the memories of the illegal demolition of the homes in the Bairro do Talude. The project preserves fragments of what was witnessed so that the event is not erased by silence. In composing the performance, we sought a resolution. But the more we listened, the clearer it became: there is no immediate cure. Dunya, time to change preserves memory without offering comfort as a full stop. It transforms the feeling of powerlessness into a shared practice of attention and recognition of urgency. *Dunya is a word of Arabic/Persian origin referring to the present world — life as it is lived, the immediate reality of everyday life.
